We offer support to people with complex mental health needs in a range of settings throughout Essex.

We work closely with each of our customers, identifying their individual strengths, to help them live more independently in the community.

All referrals to the service come through Essex Joint Referral Panel.

Connect helps customers in Rushcliffe, Gedling and Broxtowe to live independently at home.

From time to time people can find living independently at home a bit of a struggle; perhaps you’ve had a bout of illness, or feel anxious about getting out and about, maybe you’re feeling lonely, or money’s a bit tight. If you’re finding it difficult to cope, for whatever reason, our Connect service can help.

As everyone’s different, with their own individual needs, our service is completely flexible. This means we can provide you with the support that’s right for you, and connect you with the most appropriate services to deal with any current issues you might have. This can take the stress out of all kinds of practical issues so you don’t need to worry. The service covers a range of areas, including:

  • Improved health and wellbeing – whether it’s physical, emotional or mental
  • Maintaining independence – we will support you to find easily accessible, local services or support to help improve your self-confidence and give you more control over your life
  • Managing your money – if you’re struggling financially we can support you to manage your money more effectively, for example supporting you to claim for benefits and setting a realistic budget to fit your income and outgoings
  • A safe and secure home – whether you own or rent your home we can provide advice and support on anything from repairs and maintenance to home security, from aids and adaptations to looking at your options for moving
  • Getting more involved in your community – this is something that can make a real difference to people who may not have friends or family living nearby.

What’s more, the service is free so paying for some dedicated support to help you stay at home is one thing you don’t have to worry about.

This service in Kensington and Chelsea provides accommodation and support to young people aged 16 to 21 who are leaving care or are ‘looked after’ within the ‘Every Child Matters’ framework.

Although originally set up to provide a safe and secure environment for young refugees and asylum seekers, the hostel is now open to young people from the wider community who are looked after or leaving care.

The hostel provides a home to 12 customers who have their own bedroom and a range of shared areas, including kitchens, bathrooms and a lounge. Staff are on-site Monday to Friday to provide individual support, advice, information and keyworking sessions to the customers. There is also an on-call service over the weekend.

There are regular house meetings where representatives from other organisations and agencies come and talk to residents, such as Connexions and local community groups. Strong links have been established with a range of key partners, including local careers offices, benefits and housing teams, the Red Cross, the Refugee Council Children’s Panel, Asylum Support, sports centres, immigration advisers and local places of worship.

Wood Court is a purpose-built service providing accommodation and support to older people, both single and couples, within 39 self-contained one-bedroom apartments.

We offer a wide range of assistive technology, and staff are on-site twenty-four hours a day. Customers at Wood Court are over 60 and either registered as disabled or assessed to have care needs, requiring a minimum of 10 hours’ support each week.

All of the flats are wheelchair accessible, with level entry showers. There are excellent communal facilities, including a dining room, lounge and a fully equipped kitchen.

The dining and living rooms provide the focus for numerous social activities and are a hub for residents to get together and get involved. There is also a fully equipped laundry room, hairdressing facilities, assisted bathrooms and communal gardens.

Each flat has an intercom/Delta alarm system linked to care staff or, if they are unavailable, to a control centre.

Ravensdale Mansion comprises 15 self-contained homes that are suitable for older people who can live independently. There are no staff on-site, however all the homes are linked to a control centre in case of emergency.

We provide fully furnished accommodation in Sheffield for homeless people and families. Our experienced staff help customers maintain their tenancies and are experienced working with vulnerable people.

Our service at Clyde House in Wandsworth is home to nine adults with mild learning disabilities. We help our customers to prepare for independent living. Accommodation is in a new-build block located close to the river.

Our service in Saffron Waldon provides supported accommodation for eight people with mental health needs.

We offer tailored support to promote independent living skills. Customers have their own bedroom and share communal facilities. Their length of stay depends on their own circumstances and needs.

De Crespigny Park is a high support forensic mental health service supporting individuals with severe and enduring mental illnesses.
The service has 12 self-contained flats for semi-independent living.

All referrals for accommodation and support are received from the South London and Maudesley with residents typically being ex-offenders who have stepped down from the Prison service.

The service works in tandem with both statutory and voluntary agencies and participates in a multi-disciplinary approach to the support and recovery of individuals. The service is required to work alongside the Ministry of Justice, psychiatrists, psychologists and social services.

We provide a support service in Southend to people living alone with learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.

Support covers a range of areas, including daily living skills, budgeting, tenancy management and accessing community facilities.

Norvick House forms part of our Southend project.

Accommodation at Norvick House is for eight people in individual bedsits with a shared lounge and laundry room.

The scheme is staffed between the hours of 8am and 9.30pm Monday to Friday, and between the hours of 10am and 8pm at weekends with staff on-call overnight. At times the scheme may be left unstaffed during working hours when a member of staff is supporting a client in the community. At these times an on-call number is available for emergency use.
