MTVH is committed to be a sector-leading supported housing provider, with a portfolio of around 2,500 supported housing units and 3,400 homes for older people. At the heart of this commitment is a drive to deliver high quality accommodation from which customers can receive specialist support. Our core areas of support are homelessness, mental health, learning disabilities and housing for older people. We also deliver services for asylum seekers and refugees through a partnership between our MTVH Support department and our Migration Foundation.

This role will be responsible for delivering one of the key objectives in the Care & Support Strategic Plan 2023/28. The objectivedelivering supported housing fit for the future states that we will invest in existing suitable stock, build new supported housing and Later Living homes and sell properties that are not fit for purpose.

The role will primarily entail being responsible for and making recommendations on investment, refurbishments and disposal (ensuring that asset decisions are measured against strategic priorities, performance and opportunity). Experience of analysing property asset management data and managing capital works projects are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • To oversee a programme of disposals, refurbishments and developments on behalf of the Customer Services Directorate. This includes Care & Support and Community Investment.
  • Critically analyse asset data alongside suitability criteria to inform investment and disposal decisions.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders including the Development, Property and Regeneration Directorates, as well as external stakeholders such as the GLA and Homes England.
  • Develop business cases and grant applications to secure capital funding for projects and thereafter, lead on their implementation.
  • Lead project teams to ensure the successful progression of a pipeline of short/medium/long term schemes and opportunities.

Skills / Experience / Knowledge

  • Extensive experience of managing complex programmes including regeneration, development and major refurbishment for a Housing Association or Local Authority.
  • Proven track record of progressing grant funded projects through to completion.
  • Comprehensive understanding of capital funding options for affordable and/or supported housing delivery.
