Scrutiny reviews are in-depth reviews of how MTVH is performing and where things can improve.

A resident panel carries out a scrutiny review and makes recommendations to help MTVH learn and improve. The panel looks at:

  • MTVH performance information
  • Residents’ experiences
  • Complaints learning
  • Wider housing sector issues

Each year 2 – 3 topics are chosen by the National Scrutiny Forum, usually a service, process or policy. A separate resident panel does the scrutiny review.

How scrutiny reviews work

Residents are asked to attend between 1 and 3 short sessions in total every year.

If you are involved in a scrutiny review, you will usually:

  • Review a selection of documents about a specific topic
  • Attend meetings with other residents to discuss your feedback
  • Agree any opportunities for learning or improvement
  • Contribute to a report that recommends improvements

“It was encouraging to see how strangers can come together and immerse themselves into the process of scrutinising such an important internal process. Being involved with helping MTVH improve their policies and procedures is a boost to morale in my opinion.”
