Qadeer Kiani OBE appointed Molly Huggins Foundation Chair

02 February 2026

Summary: Qadeer Kiani has taken up his role as Chair of the Molly Huggins Foundation, Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing’s charitable arm this month.

The Molly Huggins Foundation, the charitable arm of Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH), has appointed Qadeer Kiani as Chair of its Board of Trustees. The appointment was approved by the MTVH Board.

Qadeer succeeds interim chair Kush Rawal, who led the Foundation through its formation and first year.

Qadeer has a wealth of experience in social housing spanning almost four decades in diverse, multi-faceted organisations in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. He has held senior management positions at housing associations including Populo, Hightown and Pinnacle and in the private sector, and has served as an advisor to the NHS. Qadeer has an MA degree in Housing and was previously a Fellow Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

The Molly Huggins Foundation has been set up to invest in communities and support people facing challenges such as food insecurity, debt, skills gaps and educational needs. It is named after MTVH’s founder, Lady Molly Huggins, who set up Metropolitan Housing Trust, now MTVH, in the 1950s to support Windrush generation migrants seeking housing in the UK.

The Foundation’s aim is to invest £75m in community impact projects by 2034 through MTVH funds, fundraising and partnerships. Qadeer’s appointment will help the Molly Huggins Foundation move forward to achieve this goal.

Qadeer Kiani OBE, Chair of the Molly Huggins Foundation, said:

“I’m honoured to chair the Molly Huggins Foundation. I look forward to working with residents, partners and colleagues across MTVH to focus on practical support that helps people thrive – backing projects with the greatest community impact.”

Althea Efunshile CBE, Chair of MTVH, said:

“Qadeer Kiani OBE brings deep experience of community leadership and governance. His appointment will strengthen the Molly Huggins Foundation as it scales up its valuable work to support residents and neighbours.

“I look forward to collaborating with Qadeer as he steers the Foundation towards our aim of raising £75m over the next decade.”
