VE Day celebrations take place across MTVH

27 May 2025

Summary: Residents and colleagues join the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the allied victory in the Second World War

Events marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day took place across MTVH earlier this month, with our communities coming together to celebrate the day and to remember those who served and gave their lives for our freedom.

Celebrations saw residents and MTVH colleagues decorating communal areas with Union Flags, filling the air with wartime music and enjoying delicious food prepared by residents whilst sharing theirs and their families memories and stories of the Second World War.

At our development at Hendon Waterside, MTVH teamed up with our partners, Barratt Redrow, in hosting an event which brought together local school children, the local Mayor and the RAF Museum to honour the area’s heritage and look to the future with a time capsule buried for the next generation.

VE Day was poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by those who lived through and fought in the Second World War, helping to ensure that their legacy continues to live on 80 years since the end of the war. We are delighted that are residents and colleagues were able to join in these celebrations, honouring those who gave so much in the service of their country.
